Velindre Staff Complete the Cardiff Tri and Raise Over £2,000
We are delighted to have received such fantastic support from our wonderful doctors, nurses and consultants who recently took time out from their busy schedules to raise vital funds for patients and their families here at Velindre Hospital.
Velindre had four teams taking part in the Cardiff Triathlon including our CNS nurses, Tracy, Annie and Kate who explained their reasons for fundraising;
“Being diagnosed, and dealing with the effects of cancer can be a traumatic time for patients, families and friends. It is an honour for us to work within the team of Specialist Nurses providing the highest level of holistic and supportive care when it is most needed.
We have been truly inspired by the wonderful patients, families and their friends that we meet on a daily basis. We have seen at first hand the difference fundraising makes to our patients and their families, and wanted to do something to continue to support them.
So, we have taken up the challenge to complete The Cardiff Tri as a relay team. This is nothing compared of the challenges our patients have to face every day.
Together the group raised over £2,000 and counting, in which we are extremely grateful for! Thank you to everyone who supported and donated to this wonderful amount.
